Beacon Web Studios is me, Alec: a WordPress designer and developer working with small teams and solo founders who want a site built for them, not pulled from a theme shop.

How I ended up here
I started building websites because a friend needed one and nobody else around knew how. That was over ten years ago, and the itch never went away: figuring out how a business works, then building the site that fits it.
Somewhere along the way I stopped taking agency jobs and went solo. I like being the one person who understands a project from start to finish. It means fewer meetings and a site that actually reflects what we talked about.
How a project runs
- A short call to talk through what you need and whether I’m the right fit.
- A fixed-scope proposal, so you know the cost and timeline before we start.
- Design and build in WordPress, with check-ins along the way, not just a big reveal at the end.
- Launch, plus a short window of free fixes while you settle in.
